You simply had to be there.
It feels just like yesterday that all three Factworks teams from around the world came together, donning our adventure gear and exploring the enchanting, history-filled town of Merano, Italy to mark Factworks' incredible 20th anniversary!
For three glorious, action-packed days, we painted the town blue and embraced every adventure that came our way. Paragliding? Check! Hiking? You bet! Rafting? Like pros! Wine tasting? Don’t mind if we do!
It’s impossible to recount all the memories made during this celebratory occasion but these are a few highlights that have stayed front of mind.
Day 1 - A Trip Down Memory Lane
Whether you traveled by train or plane, the excitement of the upcoming days was palpable (and very audible as we were gently reminded by the train staff). But who can blame us? This occasion offered us a unique opportunity to finally meet colleagues we had previously only known virtually as our US and Indian visited Europe to celebrate together with our Berlin team. As the picturesque Alpine mountain scenery surrounded us and we unpacked our assortment of games, we had plenty to catch up on.
Relaxation set in immediately as we arrived in the gorgeous town of Merano. After welcome drinks, we settled in and indulged in our first of many delectable three-course dinners, followed by a captivating presentation that took us on a journey through Factworks' humble beginnings, showcasing how we became a truly international strategic market research agency over the past two decades.
Day 2 - Painting The Town Blue
On the second day, we split into different groups to do all manner of activities. There really was something for everyone. Paragliding and rafting for the adventurous and exploration of Trauttmansdorff Castle for history buffs.
Of course, a trip to South Tyrol wouldn’t be complete without a visit to a local winery where we tried several wines from the region. In the moments between activities, we made the most of the hotel's amenities, whether it was lounging by the pool, luxuriating in thermal baths, or capturing memorable photos by the infinity pool.
After dinner, we had an exclusive party at a local bar and took to the dancefloor with as much verve as our approach to survey analysis in Q.
Day 3 - Reaching New Heights
Transitioning from late-night revelry to an early morning adventure, we prepared for a hike in the Alpine mountains, led by none other than our very own Torben. The scenery was nothing short of breathtaking, like the backdrop of a beloved children’s story, and made you want to break out into a rendition of “The Sound of Music” at any given moment. To top off this expedition, we celebrated reaching the peak with a toast of classic German schnapps.
The rest of the day was spent in and around our hotel. Soaking up the sun, dipping thermal waters, and sipping on a drink or two. Naturally, our final activity of the trip was everyone’s favorite—the classic Factworks quiz night.
The Merano trip was a time of celebration, bonding, reminiscing about our triumphs, and sharing our plans for the bright future yet to be conquered. This entry is only a small reminder of the many memories we made during the trip.
We thank everyone who has left their traces at Factworks over the last 20 years and eagerly look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead in our journey. Cheers to the next two decades of excellence, innovation, integrity and team spirit!
