What we’re looking for

You have at least 1-2 years of practical experience in market research (preferably in quantitative projects, analytics or consult-ing) either at a research firm or a research division within a com-pany. You are experienced in all stages of the research process like study design, questionnaire development, sample planning and field management, analysis, reporting, and presentation. You are enthusiastic about empirical research and have completed your studies with a high GPA / very good grades in one of the following areas: Economics or business, statistics, math, psychology or engineering.

We expect the following minimum qualifications:
  • Considerable experience with MS Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Ability to run different analysis using a statistics software (like SPSS or R)
  • Broad knowledge of statistics (especially multivariate methods like cluster analysis, multiple regression or factor analysis)
  • Passion for performing analysis and conducting primary research
  • An efficient and conscientious as well as detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Skills that would be a bonus:
  • Experience with advanced statistical models (e.g., mixture models, SEM, Bayesian analysis)
  • Knowledge of foreign language(s)

From the beginning, you’ll work together with our experienced IT specialists on innovative internal and external projects with specific practical relevance and in on-going cooperation with our research teams. You’ll gain direct insight into current
developments and fascinating issues in the online world (e.g., social media, ecommerce, online payment methods).

The range of your assignments will depend on your prior experience and knowledge as well as your personal engagement and will probably include the following:
  • Development of internal web applications for interactive visualization of market research outputs, including   online simulators and dashboards
  • Contributing to the development of our client platform and further development of our self-service applications
  • Supporting our research teams with the analysis of national and international projects for globally leading companies e.g. by automating the analysis of complex data and related processes and the development of Add-ins for MS-Office

What we’re looking for

You are enthusiastic about processing empirical data, have completed your computer science studies with a high GPA / very good grades and/or have profound knowledge in software development and programming. Preferably, you also have some practical experience (please do not hesitate to provide references).

Additionally, we expect the following skills:
  • Very good knowledge of Python, experience with Django desirable
  • Very good knowledge of and experience in handling web technologies such as HTML/CSS and JavaScript; experience with React.js would be an advantage

Intern / Working student in Quantitative Market Research

What you can expect

We offer you an exciting and challenging work environment. You will join an experienced research team and work in several pro-jects with state-of-the-art quantitative and qualitative methods to deliver our clients profound insights and recommendations for action on national and multi-country projects for industry leading companies.

The range of your assignments will depend on your prior experience and knowledge, and will typically include collaborative work in all project phases:
  • Planning and implementing quantitative research
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Conceptualizing and creating results reports and presentations for the clients
  • The internship compensation is at least € 1,400 gross per month depending on the type of internship. The internship could lead to a work student or a permanent position.

What we’re looking for

You are passionate about numbers and empirical research, and have the desire to work in a team. The internship is for a minimum period of 3 months. If you are interested in a working student position (approx. 15-19h per week), we would like to get to know you first with a full-time internship of at least 6 weeks. You ideally completed a Bachelor of economics, psychology, statistics or mathematics with very good grades, and have maybe already begun your Master’s studies. To begin with us at FactWorks, you have at least the following qualifications:

  • An efficient and conscientious as well as detail-oriented way of working and you enjoy working in a project team

  • analyzed the efficiency of an international credit card company’s advertising campaign at large sports events
  • tested in five countries the best brand name for an innovative online payment system
  • considered how to best present questions in an online questionnaire to increase responsiveness in the study
  • accompanied the field phase of an online study and tracked the status of interviews, drop-outs, etc.
  • analyzed survey data with SPSS and structured items with a factor analysis
  • thought about how to combine many different types of data into a powerful presentation and built it
  • ensured quality assurance for questionnaires, cross tabs and presentations to ensure that we would only send out the best to our clients
